My "Why" for this Site
Decisions.
This site, at its core, is all about decisions. Making BETTER decisions.
There are many things I wish I had known before making decisions in my life. The ones that I want to share with you are based on principles. Principles are timeless natural laws that can help you navigate life more effectively when you know and understand them. I like to call these the Rules that Determine Outcomes (RDOs).
All of us have our own story...our unique journey through and experience with life. No one knows what it is like to be us. That makes life interesting. Every person we meet is not just a unique individual but also has a unique existence.
Here is a little about mine.
I was born in 1969 in Louisville, Kentucky. I was a kid in the 1970s and a teenager in the 1980s. My generation was kids in a pre-technology age and young adults through the rapid technological advancements of the early 2000s. We have one foot in the old days and one in the new.
While I love the era I grew up in, there is much that I didn't know—things that are true from generation to generation. If I had known, I would have made much better choices and experienced much less heartache, pain, and dissatisfaction.
My path has been boring and exciting. I have been a facilitator within my company of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People from Franklin Covey (which I refer to quite a bit in my posts) and a host of other programs. I have been trained and have designed and delivered sales, customer service, and employee engagement programs, all of which are really about mindset. Whether coaching my son's baseball team, leading our family business, or training corporate employees, EVERYTHING comes down to mindset. Learning to manage my mindset has been more valuable than my MBA...and that is not even close.
The purpose of this site is to share some of these principles that I am teaching my children with you. I want you to know so you can make better choices and enhance the legacy that you leave for your family. I hope you follow along and listen with your heart!
